Took me just 15 minutes to read, and provided absolutely no real information about cichlids, except to point you to a website that is also very non-user-friendly. I was looking for information on the fish themselves, what their needs are, how to test water and understand the significance of the results, what to do if you see breeding, if one dies, anything...I can't believe this book is more than 99 cents. Still looking. If anyone finds a book/guide that might have real information for someone who wants to be a good caretaker to these fish, please let me know about it.

This is not a book, nor is it a magazine, and it is certainly not worth $10. I didn't learn anything that I didn't already know. All the information in this publication is available for free on the internet. Do not waste your money.

I liked this book. 42 page of no nonsense and to the point advise. I very much appreciated that he named good products to use. So many times your aquarium shop will advise on what they sell. If this is your first aquarium or you are converting from community tank to Cichlids, this is the book for you.

The book is very basic and non-spesific to the species. The grammar also shows that this is a self-published book.

Better than most other booklets, with out getting to technical or boring. He keeps it understandable, people will understand this reading the best

Perfect for those wanting to start keeping African Cichlids (and even for other tropical fish)... Very thorough instructions with a ton of information including some links to good references to check out more information... The other thing that I found extremely helpful were the important instructions for setting up a new tank and to make sure that you age it 4 to 6 weeks, before you start adding any fish. This is to assist the development of the good bacteria that is needed for the health of the fish. He also recommends a particular brand of water conditioner to buy that will assist with establishing the right environment in the tank before you risk putting any fish in... The one thing I hate with any pets... even fish, is having them die, so for me this was one of the best parts of this book.

I have to admit I am disappointed. I wanted a special book, not the usual and boring breakfast and brunch books with the forever muffin, toast and eggs recipes, maybe with some classy ideas for a special breakfast. The book is huge and heavy, however the size is owed to the large font used, not the collection of bold recipes. Most of them don't even have a photograph, and those that do are not overly inspiring or creative. The recipes are not bad, however run of the mill. This book should have better been a paperback in the $ 12 price range, then it would have been nice and decent, but I don't get the posing as huge and heavy coffee table book.

I am a chef and cookbook author. So I don't often purchase cookbooks. But this book is a keeper. The recipes are so enticing, and Sarabeth's voice can be heard throughout. It's as if she is over your shoulder in the kitchen, graciously directing you to make her culinary delights. The selection of recipes is extensive - this is a large book! The photography is so beautiful. Finally Rizzoli makes a beautiful book, bringing all of these experts together in a single work. The chapter on her preserves is worth the cost of the book alone (no one makes jam like Sarabeth!) From simple ideas (cook your oats in a double boiler) to her ethereal blintzes, there is something here for every taste and skill. This book is a treasure. Buy it before the price goes up - but even at full price, it is well worth every cent.

I ask you,baker,cook,balaboosta : Could you go,another day without running into the kitchen to make Sarabeth's sinful array of pancakes or flapjacks ? I didn't think so. Me, either. I didn't. Yes,they turned out perfectly, as her mother in law Hungarian recipes said they would. Sarabeth won't leave you in a lurch or let you down. Even the gazpacho like Bloody Mary recipe is a treat and a half. So buy this book already. No need to thank me-thank Sarabeth.

I've loved Sarabeth's food from the moment I ate breakfast at her restaurant in New York years ago. This is a wonderful cookbook focused on breakfast and brunch items. From simple things like making a fruit plate for a guest look lovely to frittatas and great looking baked goods, this is a book that I'll use for overnight guests and just the two of us.

I have a busy life. 9-5 job, kids, bills to pay, etc. I’ve always enjoyed cooking. But, selecting a meal to cook, based on the stuff in the fridge, has not been easy.So I set off to find a cookbook that would be comprehensive and specific to breakfast. After much research, I decided on Sarabeth’s Good Morning.After getting the book in the mail, I was pleased at how sturdy, timelessly simple, and beautiful it was. A few days passed, as I had no time, before my first sit down with the book. When the day came, I sat down in my living room with a cup of coffee and began reading, surveying, and studying the book. I remember becoming excited, relieved, and hungry! This is a collection of recipes that I can form a functional grocery list with. This is a cookbook that can please the kids and be passed down for generations to enjoy (or at least I will try!).My first meal was the Ham and Cheese Turnovers. The picture was irresistible and the ingredients were readily available. The instructions were clear, consise, and easy to execute (easy enough for a man-cook like me to follow!).I made a few math errors and didn’t have the exact kitchen equipment, however, I was pleased again that simple common sense adaptations and improvisions kept me on track. The recipes are easy to work with, allow for flexibily, variation, and are forgiving (... of less-than-professional grade chefs like me).My first time results were mouthwateringly delicious. The turnovers melted in my mouth.I especially love how many of the recipes rely on a “Basic Mix” that can be premade in bulk and stored for meals that need to be made quickly. I also welcomed the surprise of a broad range of food catagories that are covered (breads, jams, eggs, patries, fruits, cereals, etc.).Thank you for bringing warmth into our home!

I am thoroughly in love with this book. I own and run a bed and breakfast and there is not one recipe I've tried that my guests don't leave breakfast raving about. If I could give it 10 stars I would!

This book is what I would describe as spiritual poetry. It takes the read on a satisfying journey of the spiritual worlds and provides a glimpse into our true selves. It is beautifully written and is sure to be a book you will remember.

Like keeping this book handy to pick up anytime and read. Even a random passage helps me shrug off the outer world chaos. It opens my heart center to my connection to the Divine. Then I can get through things smoother, lighter, happier.

Shimmering vibrant images, thought provoking phrases float off the pages re-igniting some deep long repressed yearning for answers. Such is this lyrical, almost poetic tale. For example, "The wind ruffled the willows and whipped up the surface of the river. The Tibetan walked slowly along the bank studying the sunlight that glistened upon the water, and the seeker followed, watching every movement of the magnificient figure in his maroon robe". or"Love is like a slow , consuming fire which starts in the center of man's heart and slowly moves outward, destroying all that is in its path. Nothing can stop love, and even when it appears to be quenched, it will break out somewhere else. So it is with freedom".I also liked, the passage on being a magnet of Love. I like this book. After I finished reading it, the words, the rhythm remained in my mind resonating like a Mozart Sonata. Akin to Gibran's, "The Prophet" or even the ancient songs of David. Thought-provoking and profound.

This book show me I was not alone in the way I thought about life and the afterlife. It lead me to a teaching that change my life for the better.

Wow! I mean Wow! What a mind-bender. Here are a few tidbits (any emphasis is mine):Necessity, may be the mother of invention, but most of the great inventors were blessed with something else: leisure time. p. 53By why would you study nothingness when there was such a vast supply of stuff to explain? There wasn't a problem in the nothingness that needed explaining. A cycle of negative reinforcement arose: the lack of a clear problem kept the questions at bay, and the lack of questions left the problems as invisible as the air itself. P. 73Lunaticks - a group of intellectual allies with different fields of expertise, sharing insight and inspiration supporting one another emotionally and, at times, financially - and they were uniquely suited for a maverick, cross-disciplinary thinker like Priestley. P. 160. What's interesting about Priestley is not that he had a hunch, but rather that he had the intelligence and the leisure time to let that hunch lurk in the background for thirty years, growing and evolving and connecting with each new milestone in Priestley's career - know that epiphanies are a myth of popular science, ideas don't just fallout of the sky, or leap out of our subconscious. But we don't yet recognize how slow in developing most good ideas are, how they often need to remain dormant as intuitive hunches for decades before they flower. Chance favors the prepared mind, and Priestley had been preparing for thirty years. We talk about great ideas using the language of flashes and instant revelation, but most great ideas happen on the scale of generations, not seconds. (Think of the almost glacial pace that characterized Darwin's "discovery" of natural selection.) Most great ideas grow the way Priestley's did, starting with some childhood obsession, struggling through an extended adolescence of random collisions and false starts, and finally blooming decades after they first took root. As a formally educated chemist, I remember Priestly very well from college class, but I had never been taught his non-scientific interests and career. In this book we learn Priestly the Man, Priestly the Minister and Priestly the Political Refugee fleeing for his life. We also learn of Priestly's failings in Science such as his refusal to leave Phlogiston theory behind with the Alchemists.The reason I bought this book was due to a visit to Priestly's retirement home in America at Northumberland, Pa. I had not realized, or was not in class the day it was taught, that he had a home and home lab in America, being English citizen to his death. Neither had I realized that he was one of the founders of the Universal Unitarian Church. Oh! was he ever hated by King George and the Aristocrats. Neither did I realize how much influence I had on our American Founding Fathers. They were not as Conservative as many Christians of today think.
