Let me start off by saying, "I love The Loud House!" This is another great addition to their comic/graphic novel line. This one's a bit different. While all the stories are different, they all take place over the same night, so it's kind of like reading a special episode of the show.
Our grandson loves to read and he requested these books for his birthday!
Funny book
I'm not usually a fan of TV franchise book spin-offs, mostly because they can be lazy and shallow. That said, I admit to a soft spot for these guys.The eleven siblings are all standard types and the jokes are predictable. But the series has more energy and upbeat charm than you might expect. The plotting can be clever. While they aren't what you would call edgy there are sometimes deadpan throwaways and wry asides that distinguish the series.This time around we get a dozen stories, (from one page to five or six pages each), about things that go bump in the night at the Loud house. Lincoln and his best friend Clyde are in the middle of most of it, but all of the siblings and neighbor characters get into the act at some point or another. It's a bit ghosty, but not in any seriously scary way.These books seem to fall somewhere between comics and early chapter books. Brightly colored cartoon panels and cheerfully appealingly drawn characters invite the reader into the Loud's world. I can see why younger and beginning readers would like these books, and they struck me, at least, as more fun and more engaging than many other TV-tie-in series.(Please note that I had a chance to read a free ecopy of this book without a review requirement, or any influence regarding review content should I choose to post a review.
