Martin dutifully follows the boys in the band, notes the highlights of their career, and gets into some detail about the music they made. Still, this is pretty bloodless, and the format contributes to the effect by being page after page of the printed word, with the generally well-chosen black-and-white photographs appearing in two insets. Older readers will want to read the many adult books written about the Fab Four. This could serve as an introduction to the group for younger kids. The book was okay.

I read it with my children. We loved it!

The Beatles started a total revolution, I've never met anyone who dislikes them, and if someone were to say so, I'm not sure I'd be able to believe them. Almost anywhere you go today, you hear songs originally by a band that was performing there hit songs such as "Love Me Do", "All You Need is Love", "Here Comes The Sun", and more over 40 years ago. Weather or not the songs have been remade by a different band that covered the songs, or just sang by the band themselves; The Beatles have become part of our American culture. The book, The Music Was Never The Same: The Beatles, is quite possibly the best biography I have ever read. Although that may sound like a pretty BOLD statement, but you just wait till you read this book, you'll be saying the same thing. The book, The Music Was Never The Same: The Beatles, talks about the lives of Ringo, Paul, John and George. It not only talks about the time when they were in The Beatles, but is it also tells about how there lives were growing up, there lives as young adults, and as-well when they were older men. One of the main early focuses of this book is growing up in Liverpool (a very boring city in England). It also tells us about how they all started learning to play their instruments, as well as how they all met each other and started playing as a band with each other. Another subject that the book brings up is when they were becoming more of a hit band (and/or when they were older men), such as the times when they were going on tours around the world, yet as well as when they were younger when they were still playing at bars and clubs. Something else that we learn is when they were releasing albums and how they were reaching the top of the charts along with their idols such as Little Richard, and others. I think anyone who loves The Beatles, or anyone who loves music will enjoy this book greatly, because without the "revolution" that they started we would not have the types of music that we have today. If anyone even recognizes the bands name, or a name of any of their songs, I'm sure they will love this book, not just because they have great music, but it will help people to understand why they had such an effect on our WORLD. The genre of this book is a biography telling about their lives and their rise to the top of the charts. For me, I couldn't find anything to relate to this book, because this book is a biography and not a book of fantasy or sci-fi and/or anything of that sort. I also cannot relate it to anything that has happened in my life, though I am not saying that this book is book that I can relate to other then the fact that I love the music, and I play many instruments. But, just because I can't relate anything does not mean that you won't, I'd say that there is a strong chance that you will find something to relate to. I liked the way the author describes their rise to the top of the charts because I felt that that was very important to know, especially when reading a book about them. But, I feel like he could have discussed their childhood memories and their general lifestyles, because I feel like he was very brief when talking about their childhood. Although I feel that this book could have touched more on the band's childhood, I think everyone can agree that all books could use a small bit of work in some areas. But, all and all, I think that this book is wonderful, I couldn't have expected anything better, then the book, The Music Was Never The Same: The Beatles.

I don't read many books cover to cover, especially one that is over 500 pages long! But I read this one! It is packed with wonderful information, and has helped me in many ways. The only reason I give it 4 stars and not 5 is that I felt like the author was advertising his programs, products, services, and other books all throughout the book, which I think is fine to an extent....I just thought it was a bit much. Other than that, the content is fabulous and I have already seen results from applying The Success Principles to my life! 20 stars for content and how to apply it!

This book is really good. If you are wondering what type of transformational/ personal growth type of book to buy don’t look any further. This is it. The success principles work. I agree with some reviewers that say some of the content of this book is not new information; however, you will not find a single book that compiles everything together in such an orderly and coherent way. The book is well written and inspirational. You will have to shop many books, read many articles, and listen to countless podcasts to find any near as much relevant content. This book is long (542 pages) but worth every single one.

When you're ready to learn, the teacher appears. I purchased this book several years ago and couldn't read it. It didn't engage me. I donated it when I moved. 1 year after my move and I ended up buying it again ( and again in audio form) after watching a documentary on Jack on Amazon. I'm already on my 2nd listen. I carry the book in my backpack and I listen to the audio in my car and I get great bits daily. If you are on a path to be happy, you have to read (or listen) to the success principles.

There are many so-called self help books that promise instant success based on a personality makeover. Jack Canfield is well known by his success with the Chicken Soup for the Soul series does guarantee success but only if your makeover is based on principles, over 60 of them in fact. To summarize, I would say the three most important take aways are:1) Stop blaming anyone or anything else for your current situation. Take full responsibility using the following equationE + R = O. (E)vents + your (R)response to them = the Outcome.2) Determine what you would like to specifically achieve and begin to visualize and affirm it every day.3) Take the required action to make it happenThis book is meant to be read and then referred to like a manual for your success.

Disappointing. I had hoped for better instruction on basic stitches. The written piece is clear enough but the pictures provided don't line up with the written portions, often being on a different page. Also disappointing are the patterns which focus on those that look like knitting. As a knitter if i want that look, I'll knit something. The Tunisian crochet has a unique and beautiful look, and it would have been nice to have some beginner patterns that showcase that.

While I have only been crocheting for several years now, from the start I found and fell in love with Tunisian/Afghan crochet. Kim Guzman's book is one that should be at least looked at for those just starting to familiarize themselves with the style and the projects she includes are both easily understood/followed and can make for great gifts to family/friends. There are several basic stitches covered with this book, Tunisian Simple Stitch, Knit Stitch, Reverse Stitch, Extended Stitch and one or two others that are enough to keep you busy working the projects in the book as well coming up with some on your own.Instructions are easy to follow and are accompanied by pictures to allow you to see exactly what is being described. Some of the pictures however can be a bit difficult to determine just exactly what is going on due to the selection of yarn/color of yarn. Not many mind you, one or two that come to mind and if you have trouble with those in the book you can just go to her website where she has tutorials.This book is one that can lead to many hours of crocheting bliss as well some fantastic ideas for creating your own designs.

I actually started a tunisian pattern in a different book, but the instructions were not very clear. I ended up using the instructions in this book to help me on my first tunisian pattern and the instructions in this book are very clear and easy to understand.

This book has nice photos and written instruction for learning Tunisian Crochet. If when reading through the pages, you don't get something. Stitch it out and compare to photos.I found the drawings a bit confusing as the step they describe and the process don't jive in my mind. If I were to show what they intended, I would show it differently. Deciphering how someone else sees steps would require more drawings or a different one. I was able to figure it out and it is an enjoyable new technique.

I had some difficulty at first, Read, Read, Read! then you will get it. Watch the last stitch on the left side,makes thedifference of a stright edge or a disappearing one. Projects Ok for beginners.

This guide is not very good in giving specific instructions for the technique. The pictures are not clear as to what the person trying to perform the technique is supposed to do. The written instructions appear to leave out vital information to learning this skill. Again, this book falls very short of being a good descriptive guide on "how to" master the techniques shown.

Great book for beginners: you can take your time learning how to Tunisian crochet. Great pictures for visual readers.

Disappointing. I want to learn more tunisian stitches and bought this book because other reviewers said it had good pictures that showed the stitches. It does but the instructions are still hard for me to understand. I started to make the cowl but you need to ch 156 and I couldn't fit 156 stitches on my hook. Not sure how you make bigger pieces. I'll keep at it. I saw the same book at ACMoore.
