These are very high quality manga volumes! So happy to finally have them, they are quite difficult to come by in English. I highly recommend ordering from Right Stuff here on Amazon - they shipped the manga with great care and sold them for a very reasonable price! If you're a Junjou Romantica fan scoop these up before they are gone!

For those of you that are new to the yaoi manga genre, you should be aware that this particular genre of manga has only recently started to be widely translated and published in America; maybe for about the past 10 years - that is not very long ago considering that some of the original manga and anime series were making it over here as early as the 70's. That said, this series, first published in America in 2006, is one of the older yaoi releases that was available at the time.Over the years the Junjo Romantica Series has spawned several books (I think we're headed upwards of #13 at this point) and now has its own drama TV series. So as you can see, things have gone well.The first book has two sets of couples. The main couple revolves around Misaki and Usami (Usagi to his lover and friends = silly Japanese nick-name). Their relationship starts off with a not-so-welcome bang and slowly but surely develops into one of longing and unexpected affection. Don't be fooled though, this series wouldn't have been around for so long if Misaki (the Uke in denial) just caved in and took all the loving that Usagi (a true Seme in every way) had to give...Misaki puts up a good fight (or pretends to) and keeps you laughing at his attempts to convince himself that he's not gay; he just happens to have feeling for and enjoys sex with another man...heh.The second couple in the first few books (1-4 maybe?) is centered around two characters who exist and interact in the same world as Misaki and Usagi. The Uke, Hiroki (Hiro-san to his lover) is older and was childhood friends with Usagi-san. (For those that are familiar with yaoi plot set-ups...childhood friendship is almost always an indicator of potential one-sided love). The Seme, Nowaki, discovers Hiroki crying over his lost love one day and falls for him at first sight...despite being several years younger then Hiro-san Nowaki peruses his interests with the single mindedness of a true Seme (even though he is uneducated and less experienced) and eventually wins over the once frosty heart of Hiroki with his natural warmth and devotion. As this series progresses more characters and couples are added (all within the world of the original main characters), and I have found that I learn to love each pairing for their own reasons.Despite the 'over the top' lifestyle that Usagi has, most of the other characters are down to earth and have to deal with real world problems in their relationships. Nakamura sensei does a very good job of delivering lively and expressive characters. Her plot line for the first book was neither too serious nor was it overly humorous; I'd say it was just perfect for an introductory book to a longer series. As the books progress so does the plot and character development. Although I will say that she is a VERY funny artist and this is reflected in her chibi panels; you'll laugh for sure at some of Misaki's more dramatic reactions - I call them 'angry cat' moments. At the same time some of her panels are done with such grace and maturity that I found myself almost crying along with the characters in the book; the true mark of a good artist.Overall her art is not flowery or 'pretty' in a conventional way, but I enjoy it and have found that over time it has simply become the Nakamura Sensei style that I appreciate in her books. In the earlier books her sex scenes aren't very graphic (nothing you couldn't read on the bus or at the park) but she gets more 'adult themes' oriented in some of the more recently published books. Never fear though...the sexiness is still in the first book and despite not being very graphic it is indeed very mature and smokey! In my opinion she more than makes up for it with her plots and how deeply she can take the reader into the world of the book. As this series progresses you may find that these characters and their relationships really grow on you until you find yourself wanting them to be happy as if they were real people; and that, to me, is the best kind of story. Whether you consider yourself a veteran yaoi collector or are only starting to get into the genre I would urge you to add all of these books (in order...so that you understand all of the progress that's made) to your collection.

Words cannot describe how much I love this manga series! I think it was the very first yaoi anime/manga I'd ever seen. I used to be really uncomfortable with homosexual content on TV or in books or whatever, but then I started reading yaoi and loved it! I'm the kind of girl who'd be annoyed at anything involving romance because of how cheesy and unrealistic the stories are. And I'm still not sure what really caught my interest in this because it's far from reality (maybe because it's because it involves two guys?), but I can't help but enjoy the storyline and the characters in it.It was shipped fast and came in good condition.

Great series! And if you like it, I highly suggest Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi.

I absolutely love this book. I had seen the anime serie, the first and the second season so becouse of that I decided to read the manga. Is better than I tought;is romantic, funny and a little more explicit than the anime but not to much. So if you are a yaoi fan and you like this anime this is the book for you.I recommend 100%.

I love it, I literally order this yesterday and received it today, but the only down part was that I could tell that the manga is used, which I believe it says but it was still in good condition, not brand new but good :) As for the manga it self, if you loved sekai ichi hatsukoi then your going to love junjo romantica, plus I love cute yaoi anime/manga. This is definitely a good read if you want to get into the yaoi (also the anime is fab too.)

I love the story! But the book itself is poorly printed. Some of the words run off the page so I'm unable to read some full sentences. It doesn't make it impossible, but it's just kinda irritating when I have to guess some of what the sentences are saying. The story is great though. It's super cute and I love the art. I wonder if I got a defective book.

This series is so cute and so very yaoi. It follows 3 different couples: Junjo, Egoist and Terrorist. Each couple has its own story and is adorable and fun to read about in its own way. The story flows nicely and it's very easy to read and enjoy. The characters are fleshed-out and easy to understand. There really isn't anything I dislike about this series. I loved it from start to finish and I hope you do too!If you love the manga series, watch the anime!

This is not a small book nor a tediously long tome on composition and rhetoric as an instructional approach in improving the writing of Mexican American Chicanos and Chicanas. This is a book chock-full of pedagogical nuggets on how best to connect with Mexican American Chicanos/as in the English classroom. By extension these nuggets also shed light on how to connect with other ethnic minorities.As a critical history and pedagogy, professor Ruiz urges us to look seriously at what departments of English in American universities should be about, especially in Composition and Rhetoric classes. Surely at the beginning of the 21st century, Americans ought to have a clear sense of the purpose of Departments of English and their place in the university curriculum.The face of our nation is changing, and its public universities must change with it. Census projections predict that by the middle of the 21st century whites will comprise a numerical minority in the American population. At the moment it appears that the largest and most significant demographic growth will be with American Hispanics, the majority of them Mexican Americans. Per the last Census count Mexican Americans were 66% (2/3) of the American Hispanic population. This means that the mindset that English is white must change. Otherwise Freshman Composition and Rhetoric classes will be oriented toward objectives determined by the hegemonic elite. This is not a call to switch languages but to democratize use of the English languageAt the moment Composition and Rhetoric classes in American universities have a lock on Freshman students who are all required to enroll in Freshman English: Composition and Rhetoric. This is one of those “blind spots” Ruiz expostulates. Ruiz asks “What is the purpose of writing?” Literacy, for sure! According to Ruiz, the purpose of writing is to enable “students to critically analyze other written texts to help them understand their present so-cial position in current society” (65). This is critical thinking and reflection at the cutting edge of intellection that challenges “the continuing purpose” of Composition and Rhetoric “to create and maintain a hegemon middle class” (43).Citing Carter G.Woodson (1875-1950), author of The Miseducation of the Negro (1933), Ruiz highlights a pertinent commentary by Woodson:After Negro students have mastered the fundamentals of English, the principles of composition and the leading facts in the development of its literature, they should not spend all their time in advance work on Shakespeare, Chaucer and Anglo Saxon. They should direct their attention also to the folklore of the African, to the philoso-phy of his proverbs, to the development of the Negro in the use of modern language, and to the works of Negro writers 84).This is Ruiz’s message also. And my message as well in “Adios Chaucer, Adios Shakespeare: Americanizing the English Department and its Curriculum—a Latino Perspective” (Pluma Fronteriza, Part 1, April 20, 2011; Part 2, April 21, 2011).Ruiz goes on to look at HSIs—Hispanic Serving Institutions—colleges and universities whose student population is at least 25 percent Hispanic. Their congressional creation was meant to be an equivalent to HBCUs—Historically Black Colleges and Universities.Citing B.V Laden, Ruiz’s alarum is that:It’s not enough to let HSIs do the majority of educating this population; other higher education institutions must do their share and play significant roles, too, in this process or Hispanics will be stratified within higher education to only HSIs and the like (Laden, B. V., Hispanic Serving Institutions : What are They? Where are They?” Community Coll J Res Pract 195).The most intriguing—and the most illuminating—part of Ruiz’s book is Chapter 7 wherein she considers the role of multiculturalism in education and “masks of identity” in the inter-sectional space of liminal possibilities. The text here brought to mind Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World and his maxim that people are not always who they seem to be nor tell each other who they are.For Ruiz “recovering excluded histories is akin to recovering identities in that the histories not previously considered are a necessary part of what constitutes identity formation” (150).This is a treasure book by a gifted scholar whose insights like Machado’s create (el andar) the road we tread, step by step.

The strength of Northrup’s book is that it provides the reader with the confirmation that they have long-suspected to be true, that giving, open-hearted people are often the unwitting targets of these dark, relentless perpetrators. Northrup combines solid research and personal examples that demonstrate the unhealthy dynamic that exists between highly sensitive people and these covert manipulators with ulterior motives. Most importantly, the book explains how to remove or limit the exposure to these toxic people and establish stronger boundaries. Additionally, Northrup explores the link between the psychological warfare inflicted by these individuals and the development of subsequent physical illness. This is an instantly absorbing read, that will particularly resonate with anyone who has encountered one of these disturbing souls. My only criticism is that the term “vampire” tends to dilute the seriousness of these truly dangerous people. While it is apt and accurate that they can indeed siphon the life energy and resources from their victims, it cannot be overstated how much of a genuine and ominous threat these individuals can potentially pose. A great read.

Seriously I would give this 10 stars if I could. This is Northrups' best book ever. Like all her other books, it is truly ground breaking. From the very beginning, she is telling us things that we have been wondering about but never really talked about.I often felt alone with trying to shift the dysfunctional vampiric dynamics in my life. Now I feel not only validated that I am not the crazy one but empowered about how to change those unhealthy relationships forever.She goes into these shadows topics in a way that was life changing and such a relief for me. As an empath it can feel extremely lonely and this really helped me feel reassured in so so so many ways. There are so many practical tips about how to deal with dark energies of all kinds. I love her thorough definition of empaths- I have never understood it as deeply as I did with her. Upon reading this book, I ended two toxic relationships and then shifted another one forever.I know someone wrote here she makes it black and white- I actually feel that is one of the greatest strengths of the book. If we go grey in this topic, we get lost, we get trapped in old cycles. Some things need to be so clearly defined in black and white terms that it frees us and that is exactly the freedom this book created for me. I know this book will have so many five star reviews and so many people's lives are going to be so profoundly impacted. I feel so honored to be one of the first to review this! What a treat! "in Full Flight" was a fascinating read! Prior to reading this book I knew nothing of the author, John Heminway. After reading the book I wanted to read more of Heminway's stories. He is a very gifted writer in my assessment. His style is appealing. His narrative captivating. He enriches the reader. His research is unbelievable in its detail. He is a writer of magnificent talent. "In Full Flight" tells a unique story, a very human story, an intriguing story. A story of human failure, the dark side, and positive human accomplishment, the bright side. It's a book about human weakness, the struggle to survive in a cruel, harsh and demeaning environment and then redemption. It's about the strength of the human will and being able to make amends, big time, for failures and shortcomings. It was a book that I didn't want to put down and I didn't. It was captivating from beginning to end. It's not just a good read, it's an excellent read. I can't recommend it highly enough. Heminway makes you think about an array of issues and concerns all related to real life. He makes the reader self-exam our own lives and asks what would you have done in the situations and circumstances that he brings to light in the book. So please consider reading "In Full Flight"! I'm now into another Heminway book, "No Man's Land: The Last of White Africa". I'll send a review when I finish it!

A movingly personal story of a woman's life, loves, losses and redemption. It reads more like a novel than a biography and I never wanted to put it down.

“In Full Flight: A Story of Africa and Atonement” is a fascinating biography of Dr. Anne Spoerry, a French-Swiss physician and member of the French Resistance imprisoned at Ravensbruck concentration camp during WWII. While incarcerated, apparently in order to survive, she participated in various “crimes against humanity.” After her release, condemned but not yet re-imprisoned by Allied authorities, she emigrated to Kenya where she learned to fly and spent the rest of her life—well into her 80’s—as a “flying doctor” ministering to those in remote parts of the country who had no other access to health care. Author John Heminway does an excellent job portraying Dr. Spoerry as neither monster nor saint, but as a woman of tremendous will responsible for both crimes and charitable works. He leaves it up to the reader to decide whether her charity outweighs her criminality. Those who have enjoyed books such as “Beneath a Scarlet Sky,” “The Tattooist of Auschwitz,” and even “Out of Africa” should enjoy “In Full Flight.”

This books makes one ponder the complexity of good and evil in all of us. An intriguing, and illuminating read.

Incredible true story of a remarkable person. Writing is excellent and the author took 18 years to complete the research for the book. The book poses the question for anyone -- can a person atone for their past?

This is an incredible story. It is a story that queries redemption. Heminway's life long knowledge of Africa and history enables him to capture this difficult personal history like no one else could. It is a great read for all generations! I recommend it highly!

I enjoyed this a great deal though my sense is that the author overused a narrative device for the first half of the book, dangling the mystery of Ravensbruck again and again. The book raises powerful, important ethical questions and, to its credit, no easy answers. The author takes some off-putting liberties -- an uninformed diagnosis of narcolepsy is one example -- but in general provides a vivid portrait of a.complex woman ... who may be either a demon or a saint, or perhaps both.
